Haute? Hote?

Sunday evening Linus kept saying, "Hote. Hote. Hote" Or was he saying haute? At one point it sounded like he said oak. He was so cute when we returned home, looking around the house and smiling at everything. Once again, he was a riot during his bath in the kitchen sink. He flat out refuses to sit down. Matthew tried to make him sit, but he planted his feet firmly down and refused to bend his knees. When Matthew finally got him sitting, Linus started to cry. We couldn't help but laugh, and then Matthew held him standing for his bath. The photo is from that night. We played with him in his room after his bath.

I went to the Friends of the Library book sale last night during the member preview and got an awesome bargain and Linus' library has grown. I got him 18 board books and several story books. The board books were 4 for $1! I spent over an hour and a half crawling around, digging through box after box, hunting for the best books for Linus. I really enjoyed picking books for him. Some rhyme, some are classics, some have great vocabulary words, some have incredible pictures. I also ran into Johanna's daddy there. He was picking out books for her.

Today is election day. We are voting for the full slate of Democratic candidates, and voting no on both amendments (bringing back the death penalty and banning civil unions). We'll bring Linus to the polls with us tonight.

I voted the Democrat slate too, even though in the South, the Ds aren't much better than the Rs.

Also, we got a (recorded) phone message from Bradley Whitford, saying he is from Wisconsin, still cares about Wis, and urging us to vote "no" on breaking up loving families. I guessed that was about the civil union ban. Wasn't that great?

Good luck with your elections.

Yay! Deval Patrick won in Mass! Our first African-American governor. Woo-hoo!! His opponent ran a nasty campaign...all she did was smear him, and it hurt her a lot. Anyway, happy election day, Linus! There were no cute babies at our polling station, but I'm sure you made a splash at yours!

Ooooh! This is your 99th post! Yippee! :)

p.s. I waited in line for an hour and a half tonight! Hooray for high voter turnout!

I went at 7:00 and the line to vote was very small but the line for new voter registration was huge. The guy behind me in line hadn't voted before and was nervous and excited. That was fun.

I'm sad that Brad Whitford called everyone but me! Doesn't he know who his fans are? Cripes, Brad.

I received recorded messages from Bradley Whitford and Russ Feingold. I also received an email message from Michael J. Fox.
